Day 124 - SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

It's school holiday time here after a long term. Phew!

Time for board games, movies, outings, relaxing and just a slightly slower pace around here for me.
:o)

Day 123 - CANOES

This is what Mia got up to whilst we were in WA :)

Day 122 - SHACK

(photo taken by Paul)

So I have already mentioned on this blog that I am looking forward to owning our own home again. Well we saw this one when we went for a drive on the weekend that is up for sale.

I don't think this is the one though ;)

Beautiful, iconic picture however!

Day 121 - DAM THAT'S COOL!

Excuse the pun....I couldn't resist :)

Is this some dam or what though? Huge!

The boys took this pic of the Gordon Dam whilst on their camping trip at the weekend. Just thought I'd share such an awesome photo :)

Day 120- NEW DISCOVERY

Hello again :)

I'm back from my short trip back to WA and ready to share my latest discovery.

Now I've never really been into period pieces before and have skipped many of the movies and shows (Pride and Prejudice etc) that many of my friends have been into. So even though I'd heard people rave about this show

I skipped it too. But on the flight home from Perth to Melbourne Mia and I were lucky enough to score a plane with tv screens in the back of the seats (well I was lucky as they help a boring flight pass quickly, however they were a little high for Mia to be able to watch comfortably). After looking at all the selections and being somewhat disappointed that there was nothing I really wanted to see, I decided to take a chance on the first episode of Downton Abbey. Well, I'm glad I did. It was quite enjoyable as was the second episode. Alas, that's where I ran out of flying time. A trip to the local Blockbuster may now be required ;)

Anyone else seen this show?

Day 113 - GONE FISHING

Some restaurants here in Tassie will close for a month during the winter time. I was amused to hear that a local fish and chip place did just that, putting up a sign saying "Gone Fishing".

Well I am going away on a short trip and so am putting up a similar sign on my own blog for Days 114 to 119.

See you again on Day 120!!

Day 112 - RASPBERRIES

I am a little ashamed to say that I am not a fruit eater at all. I'm probably more a vegetables person. If you're more of a meat eater and we were sharing a roast I'd happily let you have my meat whilst I'd enjoy a plateful of just roast vegetables. But alas, fruit is one of those things that I have to remember to make myself have. That is until coming to Tasmania and discovering raspberries!! (we just didn't have them in the supermarkets in WA).

I just love raspberries and they grow really well here. At the moment they are outrageously expensive as it's out of season but I figure that since they are the only fruit that I eat and love, they are worth the money.

I can't wait until summer comes when I'm going to check out some of the berry farms around Tassie where apparently you can pick your own. Yum! :o)
